Unable to See Pictures

Hi
A friend of ours took some phots at a party and copied them onto my camera memory card. When I put the card into my reader, I can see the phots on my PC and do pretty much as I like with them however, when I put the card into my own camera, they seem to disapear and the camera reports no images.

I tried saving them back as another name, in another format but it just keeps saying there are no phots on the card whereas in fact there are over thirty.

Can anybody advise why I can't see them on my own camera but I can on my PC and is there a way to fix this ?

I am sure its simple but I have spent all evening trying to fix it so over to you experts

Thanks

Re: Unable to See Pictures

My first thought is why do you want to see them on your own camera when you can "see the photos on my(your) PC and do pretty much as I like with them".
I assume that you can save the photos and edit them as you like.

Most folks take photos, then transfer them to another source for archiving.

Re: Unable to See Pictures

Well I guess the only reason for doing this is so I can show them to other people without need to lug my PC all over the place.....
So, is there a good reason why the can't be viewed on my camera ?
Thanks

Re: Unable to See Pictures

When you put your memory card into your card reader, assuming it is connected, your PC should prompt you to open up the the removable drive.
Once opened, you should have a folder named DCIM. D/click this folder.
You now should see a folder named by default by your camera. D/click on this folder.

This is the folder you should transfer any 'external' photos of the 'exact' format so it can be read and viewed. No guarantees though. Allegedly, cards weren't really meant to work 'backwards' like the way you want.

It sometimes depends on the camera your actually using to view the files. May work on one, but not another.
