Epson Scan on DX4450 - how to turn off auto straighten!

Hi all,

Does anyone know how to turn off the auto straighten / auto orientation function in the Epson Scan software that came with my DX4450 all-in-one? I'm trying to scan pages from a book which contain a pattern which seems to confuse the software. When I place the book on the scanner in the correct position the software 'straightens' it incorrectly resulting in a very wonky scan.

I've tried auto, home and professional modes but just can't find the setting to disable it. I just want it to let ME decide what's straight!

Any help much appreciated. Usually googling these things finds a solution but this time I'm stuck!

What program are you using when scanning the document(s) or book?

Some programs have independent settings regarding how it might treat a scanned image. For instance 'Deskewing' which describes your symptom is done automatically and sometimes you can't prevent it.

Try a different program such as 'Paint' to scan a page and see if it is the same.

Re: Epson Scan on DX4450 - how to turn off auto straighten!

Many thanks. I must admit that I assumed there was only one twain driver on the computer (the Epson one), and assumed that any program would use that one. However, there seems to be normal 'wia' windows one that I can use instead, which works fine. Rather annoying that the Epson one doesn't seem to allow deskewing to be turned off; particularly as the other functions it provides are very useful.

Thanks again.

PS- I'm still interested if anyone does know how to turn deskewing off :-)
