I bought a new PC Line PCL-3000 scanner and I am finding difficulty installing it and getting it to work. I have Windows XP prof on my PC. I installed the software successfully, and my PC recognizes that there is a device on the USB port.

When I try to scan a document, I get a message saying "Scanner is not ready, check the scanner cable". Can any one help, or tell me where do I go for help? At least I want to know if the problem from my computer or from the cable of the scanner.
