This may seem a silly question, but what is the difference between Jpg and Bmp, and what format is best for printingThank you

The quality of bmp files is poor as it was mainly intended for few colours and line drawings. The size of the bmp files will be very large indeed where jpeg files are intended for photographic pictures and due to the compression, take much less space even at their best quality.
