I am having trouble with ms Paint. When clicked on it gives a blank white screen and generated an error report. ( This gives no solution an no help!!! ) I tried downloading ms Paint again and could find it nowhere. While browsing through this forum I have seen the post by ourstanly for the .net paint 3.0, so I followed this link and tried installing it but it says I need the .net framework 2.0 version or higher when directed to Microsoft's website is says to install the .net framework 3.0 at 50mb! Do I need this to work ms paint? Is this why it's not working? Looking on add/remove programs list I see I have .net framework 1.0. Could anyone help me out here, as the MS website does little to explain it and search engines bring back varied results. Thank you- Abyss

It's better to post the full error message your receiving, but if you feel up to it, try this solution. To resolve this problem: 1. Click Start, click Run, type regedit in the Open box, and then press ENTER. 2. Locate and click the following registry key: HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\Current Version\Applets\Paint 3. Right-click the word 'Paint' in the left pane, and then click Delete. This registry key is rebuilt the next time that you start Paint. Now try Paint again, and see what happens. Please make a backup of your Registry should things go wrong. Good luck. |
