How do i change my avatar?

Hi all, I know i sound useless here but i have been trying to change my avatar to a seasonally themed one! I have uploaded my chosen images to Imageshack and re-sized them for avatars, but when i paste the code in it says 'Invalid parameters' whatever that is! I had two codes and neither work. Can someone explain this in simple terms for me?

That is really weird, it wasn't there last night! It has changed overnight! Maybe Santa had a hand in this!
