Linking to topics

How do you go about linking to another topic on webuser?

Reason I ask is that I've replyed with a long answer to someone and find the same question coming up from another person and wish to link to my original answer rather than type it all out again.

Re: Linking to topics

Open a second window with the post you want to link to on. Highlight & then click copy on the URL from the address bar at the top. Go back to window one and paste your URL adding (url] before your pasted link and (/url] after it, eg (url]This is the link I want you to see(/url] All brackets must be the square type [ and do not leave any spaces

Re: Linking to topics

So basically copy and pasting the link of the post you want the user to see into the message you're doing for them by using the URL instant mark-up options is the way to do it?

It's quite safe to do this then? just on some forums if you copy and paste the link thats in you're address bar that can show people you're session i.d.

Re: Linking to topics

The cookies don't work that way on Web User, try it on this thread, link to something!

You might find some more tips on this mark-up thread.
