SETI and other projects on Page 38/issue 171.Additional Information

Thank you for posting the Links to SETI (and other projects)

It is not clear in the Article that SETI has a program dedicated to to one project and B) If that is the cass all the other similar project. must be the same ...Been about 3 years since this was used

Seti these days uses a management program called BOINC Which can run any Program of this type as a Mix and Match .I'm running 3 projects and All I do is press the update button if needed

Well worth a Workshop project adding new projects to this program, case of pasting an URL in and the wizard does the rest. 5 second job with practice

Can check out the wide choice here once you have the BOINC program installed

Start here for getting your first project (SETI is not compulsary OK) http://boinc.berkeley.edu/

Thanks for posting the extra info.

The BOINC (great acronym!) management software you mention is downloadable via the SETI page we featured in the mag, using which - as you suggest - people can also partake in a range of other useful and interesting projects.

Apologies if this was not made clearer in the article, but we were simply using SETI as one example of a task your PC could perform during its idle time.
