Toshiba notebook not available

In issue 167 of Webuser was a leaflet from Toshiba home advertising their latest notebook PCs. The model that I liked the look of was the Satellite L40-139 priced at £379 incl VAT. I went to the Toshiba website and there is no mention of this model, it was only when I telephoned them using their (expensive) 0870 number, I was told that this model is not for sale yet and may be available late August! Why/how can they advertise products when they are not for sale ?
