Using Thunderbird e mail with Talktalk
Hi, I have had to replace my laptop and am having difficulty using my previous e mail client Thunderbird with TalkTalk. I have set up the account as before using mail.talktalk.net & smpt.talktalk.net. However while i can send emails I cannot receive because I am prompted for a password which when inserted - is refused as being incorrect. This is confusing as I can access the email via the Talktalk web mail using this password.I have done this several times and know the password is correct and in the proper lower case. any ideas please? I assume talktalk is pop3 and not imap? Thanks

I use Thunderbird but not Talk Talk. Found This where someone else is having problems. There may be something that springs to mind.

SORTED! When entering my account details I did not put in the whole email address as my user name - only my name as it would appear in the 'from' heading on emails. Thanks to all for support.
