Re: Hotmail Spam

The problem with web based email accounts, such as Hotmail and Yahoo, is that they are prone to spamming, especially if you have used/given your email address to websites/companies, and not kept them solely for family and friends.

If you don't want any spam, then you should open a new account and only give your email address to family and friends, and also ensure that they do not forward to you emails which have a whole list of "cc" names attached.

I have two web based accounts which I only use for websites/companies and they get spam galore, whereas two other accounts get nothing, because I have kept those addresses private and only given to those I trust.

Re: Hotmail Spam

As said before, when you sign up to places or give companies your email address, your email is plunged into the pit of spammers.
HOWEVER, a way around this is to set your hotmail account to only recieve messages from people in your contact list.

If you sign up to something and don't mind getting mail from that place, put their email address in your contacts list.

You will then ONLY get mail from people you want mail from.

When you log in, go to the "Options" area. you can do this from there.
