iCal probs with Outlook 2007

I've recently moved to Outlook 2007 from Outlook 2003 (as new laptop came with Vista/Office 2007).
I used to be able to open iCalendar (ics) files as appointments and then save them to Outlook 2003 just like an outlook calendar appointment, but now when I try it with Outlook 2007, it saves as a new calendar, not a new appointment.
I've tried saving it to my desktop and then putting it in outlook 2007, but same problem.
Any ideas?
