how can i stop my new hotmail emails and the address being shown at wondows xp login?

i joined hotmail and windows live messenger and now when i get a new email it is listed as 'new email' for my user name at the windows xp user login page, and my hotmail address is also listed ....how can i stop this happening?
i dont want the number of new hotmail emails to be shon at login

Download this utility . . . . >> TweakUI << . . . .
Once installed, scroll to Repair > In the drop down menu select 'Repair unread mail count' > Repair Now > Apply/OK

Alternatively, when you've got Tweak UI, click on the + by 'Logon', then on 'Unread Mail' and untick 'Show unread mail on Welcome screen'. Apply and OK it. You can set this there to apply to all users on your PC or just yourself. Choose the 2nd option if you're the only user.
