Finding a free database package to download outlook contacts

Hello
I have over 3000 names and business e-mail addresses in my outdated Windows Outlook 2000 contact list. Because of this I think my computer takes a long time to boot.
So I am looking to find a free download database package that I can transfer my contact list directly from outlook 2000 into it.
Can anyone recommend and point me in the right direction of any database that is easy to use and avauilable as a free download?
