I just received an email which appears to be from Microsoft. The subject is:Upgrade your internet explorer for FREE And the message itself says: You are receiving this message from MSN or Windows Live because you are a valued member. Microsoft respects your privacy. To learn more, please read our online Privacy Statement. We hope you find these communications valuable. However, if you would prefer to no longer receive promotional offers or research emails from MSN please visit our Marketing Preferences. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Its true I haven't upgraded IE6 to IE7 since I reinstalled XP in the early part of 2007 but I use Firefox and it wasn't top priority as id had a few problems after installing it before. I just wondered if it was a genuine email or spam and if its genuine why they had sent me a message like that? Thanks In Advance

I thought so and just deleted it. Could the reason the email was like this be because Microsoft had blocked an attachment or something malicious? EDIT: Just read on the link you gave me that the links in the email could have been spoofed good job I didn't click either of them! |
