ATTACHMENT RECEIVED BUT NO PAPERCLIP TO OPEN IT
|
|
We are running Windows XP with Outlook Express 6.0. We have received several e-mails from an associate with an attachment but no paperclip appears so we are unable to open/save the attachments. We know the attachment is there because checking properties shows a 148kb message. The sender is also using Outlook Express but claims to habe updated/upgraded his version. Is it possible that this is the case - we are up to date on our downloads including Explorer 7

In Outlook Express go tools>options>security, when that opens look in the "virus protection" box and take the tick out of the box "do not allow attachments to be saved or opened that could potentially be a virus"
That should do the trick.

Unfortuantely I've already tried that and I'm still one e-mail short of a paperclip. E-mails from other senders with attachments are coming through OK

It may well be that the attachment is too large and has been removed along the cyber path! Ask your contact if they can zip the attachment to make it smaller or to send it to you via Mail Big File.

Till you get the problem solved, try highlighting the email in question, go to File > Save As, or Save Attachments.
May or may not work.
