I have AVG anti-virus and firewall and anti-spyware. All are up to date. I also have Outlook Express as my main email client. Frequently I receive bounced emails where 'someone' has been using my Outlook Express email address to spam people - and the email has bounced. How could this have happened with all the security I have? What can I do about it? Many thanks everyone for your help

It's a classic method used by spammers to fool you into believing that the original mail came from your address - it didn't. It's designed by them to make you open the mail just to check. Don't open them, just delete them. |

I received an email to me today from...'me' I looked at properties and yes it was my email address. I clicked 'reply' and it went to...me. So the address must be genuine. This particular email was using my name at my company to email porn - this concerns me.

G'day sarahharris. I agree with greysts and your only getting a designer e-mail that looks like if was sent from yourself. You write the address is genuine, by what means have you come to that conclusion. Quote: Would it not best at this stage to inform your IT admin about the problem. |
