I use mail washer pro and Thunderbird.I keep getting this error message pop3 server not responding, ensure that you have specified the adress of a pop server.
Ive checked Virgin status page and there are no email issues.
Any advice please..

Have you changed anything recently?

Added any software, particularly a firewall or antivirus.

Hi RichieP,
No not a thing, haven't changed anything. It seams to be something that happens occasionally. Its really irritating when you are expecting an email.

Re: Pop 3 server not responding...?????

If it's intermittent it could well be their servers. Intermittent faults are much harder to diagnose than things that are properly broken.

Re: Pop 3 server not responding...?????

Thanks RichieP,
So theres no reason to reenter all my details...???
Maybe you can advise me on this email problem.I have created a second account with blueyonder/virgin.But all that happens is all my incoming emails are duplicated....??? The idea was so I could use the different emails for different things.

Re: Pop 3 server not responding...?????

I'm assuming you've created a 'sub-account' and that you use the email address given by Blueyonder, probably random letters and numbers?

If so, you need to create a rule to filter the emails to the new address into a different folder.

In OE, right-click on the Inbox folder and create a new folder. Call it something meaningful.

Now you need to go to Tools > message Rules > mail and create a rule 'where the To line contains people' and enter the email address you created. Then select it to move to the Specified folder, the one you created earlier.
