network password pop up in outlook express - how do i stop it????

hi, i'm on windows xp, running outlook express 2007 as part of the office package. Over the past month i've constantly got the network password pop up request appearing every 10 minutes or so. I've googled the problem and got the relevant solution (i think!) on http://www.theeldergeek.com/save_passwords_in_outlook.htm
HOWEVER! it won't save the check in the 'Replace Permission Entries on all Child Objects with Entries Shown Here that Apply to Child Objects' box. I've checked that i am setup as an administrator, is there anything i'm missing?
any help welcomed, i'm not amazingly computer literate but can follow simple idiot guides. Also, does anyone know how it could have been triggered in the first place as the system WAS running fine? i use the Eusing registry cleaner as recommended by webuser along with ccleaner if that helps. Thanks for any help you can give!

Re: network password pop up in outlook express - how do i stop it????

This can be a very difficult error to correct and is not necessarily a registry key problem. Here are a few things for you to note or to try :-

1. Have you highlighted (clicked) your name before attempting to tick the 'Replace Permission ......' box?

2. Have you tried restoring the system to a month or so ago via System Restore?

3. Do you have backups of your important mail, so that you could delete the account and set it up again?

4. Have you consulted your ISP regarding email problems?

5. Lastly, I have to ask, are you supplying the correct password, is Caps Lock turned on, is the keyboard behaving itself?
