What happens when you try to delete the rule? |

When I try to remove the said item, I get the following message.. "You must select at least one action from the list to create a rule". |

I don't use the 'rules' but I have just experimented and, like you, found it difficult to remove (delete) a rule. Try Tools, Message Rules, Mail. Untick the rule and click Remove, OK and Apply. You may have to try different combinations of these to get rid of it but it will eventually go. What version of Windows Mail are you using? You can identify it by going to Help, About. I'm on a Win Server 2008 machine at the moment (not strictly Vista) and am using version 6001, I suspect you're using 6000. |

Thanks BurrWalnut for your information. What you Suggested did nothing to cure the problem but did help me to find a different approach and the cure was looking me in the face.See if this works for you. In W/live click on Message/Create rule from message and you will notice that if you have an email highlighted that address is in the rules box,but if NO email is highlighted there is NO address in the rule box.(A bit long winded). The Version I have is 6.0.6000. Again many thanks. |
