Hotmail attachment downloading problem

Hi I have a problem which I am sure is pretty frequent. I sent some files to my hotmail account from my work (non hotmail) email account yesterday. I can open the email but when I try to open the file (both word and excel), a message appears saying Internet Explorer cannot download from 65.54.etc... the requested site is either unavailabe or cannot be found. PLease try again later'.

The same message has appeared for 14 hours when I have tried to download.

I have windows 2000.

Re: Hotmail attachment downloading problem

As you get the mail but not the attachment it sounds as if Hotmail is blocking the download for some reason. Rather than sending the attachment as an .xls or .doc file, try zipping them first and then send. Excel and Word files have been known to carry macro viruses and Hotmail may be trying too hard to protect you from yourself!

Do you know that we're all in line for succession to the throne? Really?
Well, if forty-eight million, two hundred thousand, seven hundred and one people died I'd be Queen.
