Hi there, I am trying to send a group email to less than 50 people using Outlook Express. My McAfee Security Centre alerts me of a potential worm problem, this can be ignored but then another window appears with a Protocol Error message stating email could not be sent to one of the recipitants. But it doesnt send to any of them. The Protocol info provided is a load of rubbish, it stated something wrong with my registry. Well since reformatting P.C. I have exactly the same troubles. I have tried to send the email to just 1 recipitant which works, then 2 which works then 3 which works, then 4 recipitants, this time it comes up with the protocol error above. I have disabled my Virus software which makes no difference, I have contacted my ISP which they have no idea, I have contacted McAfee who say it is not there software and I have contacted Dell who I brought my P.C. from and they want to charge me £15 for a 30 minute conversation on the telephone as it is a software issue not hardware. Does anyone have any ideas please?????????????? Kind Regards, Simon Newton-Smith |

Does it give you an error whichever 4 addresses you send to ? The only time I've had problems with sending to multiple recipients (over 100) was when I had one of the email addresses wrong (I had a comma instead of full-stop), but its not obvious from the outlook express error message which one was the problem one http://www.predatorconservation.com |

Yes it does, its strange. If i try to send an email to say 20 people, McAfee will tell me there was a protocol error with a certain individual, but if i try to email that certain individual with no one else in the (To:) section it will send no problem. thats what i thought it maybe, if i stat to type someones address in the (To:) section it completes there name and if you hit enter it ends with ; and then leaves a space for the next reciptant. Im using outlook express 6 if thats of any use. I have had this problem since I got my P.C. 6 months ago. I have followed all the help and support options I have but nothing seems to work. Driving me crazy. Kind Regards, Simon Newton-Smith |
