Google Checkout or PayPal?

Bit of a no brainer really when you see the fee structure.

Anyway, first off Google have extended their No Fee offer to 1st February 2008 - this is obviously good news.

Then their fee structure kicks in. One band - 1.5% + £0.15 per transaction. No other costs and if you use ADWords you can get free transactions if you meet certain requirements.

This is PayPal's structure:

Monthly Sales Price Per Transaction
£0.00 GBP-£1,500.00 GBP 3.4% + £0.20 GBP
£1,500.01 GBP-£6,000.00 GBP 2.9% + £0.20 GBP
£6,000.01 GBP-£15,000.00 GBP 2.4% + £0.20 GBP
£15,000.01 GBP-£55,000.00 GBP 1.9% + £0.20 GBP
above £55,000.00 GBP* 1.4% + £0.20 GBP

So you would only benefit from PayPal if you bring in above £55K. If only.

No other fees with Google - will be interesting to see how eBay react and if they will finally allow it or actually look at reducing their excessive fees.

We have had two sales on TazBar recently and one person paid with PayPal and the other with Google - both integrated payments in that we did not have to invoice, so it obviously can be done.
