Unwanted advertising / related links on my site - HELP

Can anyone give me some advice please?

I recently set up a website with 123-reg. It was really easy to do and I didn't encounter any problems at all while setting it all up. However, as soon as it was published a horrible column of related links appeared on the home page! It obscures part of the text on this page and also covers up part of the menu bar. Apart from that it takes away from the whole look of the site and I'm really not happy about it. HOW DARE THEY DO THIS!

Anyway, 123-reg customer service is proving to be awful (I wish I'd known all this before I started). I can't get through to them on the phone and don't want to waste any more time and money on calls. They don't answer my e-mails and I'm getting more and more frustrated.

Has anyone else had this problem with the related links and, if so, is it possible to remove it yourself???

Which hosting package do you have with 123-reg?

Not the basic package. I took the one which gives me 10+ pages. It's not the e-commerce package though....

OK, so it's their 'Instant Site' Plus service (as opposed to full hosting).

Have you looked at the source code of your page to see where the adverts are coming from?

Its a nightmare but it happens, if you use a Free service to host your site they will attempt to make money by adding a banner or links onto the site when its uploaded. (Its a bit of a cheek tho' if you've paid??)

However with Your own Hosting from as little as £1.49 a month now you can prevent this from Happening.

Having said that there must of been something about this in the terms and conditions of which you signed up to?? in relations to these ads appearing?

123 reg arn't the best for this type of thing, its just they need to make £££'s from offering this service and thats how they do it.

take care
