Does anyone know just how to obtain free ssl certificates?

I run four websites all hosted with the same company, I've noticed that many customers go through the whole shopping cart process only to cry-off at the last second. My payment method is Paypal shopping cart on all sites.I was wondering if this put prospective customers off; if so where can I obtain free ssl certificates?

Why free (not that I think you can get free SSLs, nor trust one if you could), if you're running a business it's a legitimate expense which you can offset against your tax liability...
