Forums on Google News/ Google Blogs

Some forums posts get on Google News and Google Blogs search. I just wondered if anyone knew how? Not all are particularly busy or large forums so they must be doing an SEO trick of sorts?
Also does anyone know of any forum post swap sites? I know of the excellent Digital Point forums but of no sites.
