I have now activated the available webspace on my Pipex Homecall broadband account. However, I have been unable to access the site via the ftp address either directly in Internet Explorer or via Dreamweaver in order to upload webpages. I have been in contact with Homecall Technical Support but they appear "unable" to help - they only provide the space itself! I have checked, double checked and triple checked all my settings and tried various permutations of the addresses but to no avail. I have uploaded pages in both Dreamweaver and Frontpage to other host sites without any problems, so I do know how to do it. Are there any Pipex Homecall ISP users out ther who can help? Are there any peculiar settings for Homecall? I am using the FTP address homecall.co.uk. Any help would be greatly appreciated. |

G'day timnewst. Welcome to WU. You might have to wait up to 72hrs to gain FTP access. The search engines sometimes take that long to be able to direct you to your site. |

For info, I discovered that the reason I was unable to access the site was because I was not logged on via a Homecall account, but via my own ISP. I have suggested to Homecall Tech Support that it might be helpful if this point was made clear in their FAQs or help pages - and that Tech Support staff are made aware! |
