When I view photos on the Internet most display, however on certain sites I just get a small red cross where the picture should be. What is causing this?

i think it has something to do with java,i'm not sure, you can try right clicking on the red x and in the drop down menu click on show picture, i have xp and i get this a lot as well.
if i had known i would live this long, i would have taken better care of myself.

Re: Photos

The link to the photo is broken. It's not your fault. If it's a site you use regulary it's worth letting the owner know.

Re: Photos

What the red X means is that your PC has looked for the photo but it isn't where it should be. In short the URL is incorrect. I can demonstrate that for you here. Yet the deliberate mistake on the first one is so simple it is stupid. The final letters 'jpg' were in lower case whereas they should have been in upper case 'JPG'

Re: Photos

Here's one for you, I have a program that inserts Smiley's into EMails. Damn thing cost me $16.50 but it don't work.
When I use it it is inserting....
file:///C:/Program Files/Schmaili31/whatever.gif
but it should insert ....
C:\Program Files\Schmaili31\whatever.gif

Now! Here's the cheesy bit. If I were to tell it to insert into the say the address line it would insert the correct line.

It's driving me nutz as the answer must be so obvious I can't see it.
