Half a Google

For what appears to be no reason, every time I open a new window from a Google search it only opens half a window and I have to click to enlarge (lazy maybe!). Have had a look at the preferences but there doesn't seem to be an option for half a window, any suggestions.
(I have replaced my 15' monitor with another 15' monitor could that be linked to It?)

Drag the edges of the window to the edges of the monitor then x out and the next time you open a window it should be full size.
