Internet Explorer homepage.

I cant seem to change my homepage when I use internet explorer. When I click on tools, then internet options, I get an error message reading - This operation has been cancelled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your systems administrator.
When I open the control panel and go to internet options the homepage part is blanked out so I cant even restore default settings.
I've also tried using Cleaner MFC Application but I get the message - The instruction at 0x77f839f2 referenced memory at 0x0034ef35. The memory could not be read. Click OK to terminate the program.
I have run my antivirus and spybot and cleared any problems but this hasn't made any difference either. This is my own PC and I'm using Windows XP Home. Can anyone give me any help or advice in really simple terms....Please?????

Re: Internet Explorer homepage.

Got Start | Programs | Spybot | Spybot Advanced
Click Immunize
At the bottom of that page, you should find Recommended miscellaneous Protections
You will probably find that Lock IE Start page against User Changes is checked, uncheck it,

Now try to change your home page

Once you have satisfactorily changed your home page, put the check mark back in and close Spybot
Of all the Things I've lost, I miss my mind the most
