Please could any one tell me why my default browser has changed from firefox to ie without me doing anything ? it still launches at start up and is fine for general browsing but when i click a link in an email it is opened using ie. up until a couple of days ago the links were opening in ff.

This sometimes works. Open Internet Explorer and you will be presented with a dialogue box asking if you wish to make IE the default browser. Say yes and then close IE down. Now open FF and you will again be asked if you wish to make it the default. Again say yes and close down. Now try one of your links in TBird.

This looks like it might be the solution.
