Firefox - startup

I have just installed Firefox on my PC and Laptop.
I find it takes a lot longer to open up firefox on my laptop than when I had IE7 on it.
Can anyone suggest a way of speeding up the load up time?

Hi
Try this not sure if it works with vista,also not sure if it needs turning off when downloading or installing software,perhaps someone else can help on that.
