Hi All I have a problem when opening IE6 in that it part opens, then an error message is displayed as shown: AppName: iexplore.exe AppVer: 6.0.2900.2180 ModName: urlmon.dll ModVer: 6.0.2900.3231 Offset: 0003b5ce I repeat the process four times and then it seems to get past the error above and I can surf OK until I close IE and the same happens again. Thinking about it, this has only been happening for a few days and reckon its since the last MS update a few days ago. Some research on the net seems to think it may have something to do with KB942615 and Zonealarm. Anyway, I have removed, downloaded and reinstalled both of the above but its still causing problems. OS is XP Help appreciated |

Are you saying that if I upgrade to IE7 the problem will go away ? I like IE6 and don't really want to upgrade but if I have not other options I will... |

Quote: Almost certain , but you need to try it to find out. Create a new restore point before installing IE7 ( in fact , if i remember correctly a new one is created automatically during the install ) . In the unlikely event things don't go to plan you have 2 options to return back to IE6 . The restore point you created or by removing IE7 from add/remove programs the browser will revert back to 6. For the security benefits IE7 offers it's the way forward. Link for IE7 |
