Re: firefox broke

Using the latest version of Java with the latest version of Firefox should be OK. How doesn't Firefox work? For instance, 'no connection', 'won't start' or 'some web pages don't load' are examples of what might be helpful information.

Have you tried starting Firefox in Firefox's 'Safe Mode' to see if that helps?

Re: firefox broke

A few questions

Do you get any messages when you try to start up?
Have tried the 'Safe Mode' suggestion?
Are you using the Firefox Preloader?
Can you see any instances of Firefox already running in the Windows Task Manager?

Re: firefox broke

Am not using preloaded and can't see anyway to use safe mode option, it isn't anywhere in the FireFox folder or out I'm sure it used to be in previous incarnations clicking on FireFox nothing happens it isn't listed in the task manager when i check, I have removed java totally and FireFox reinstalled both of them, and still the same.... mmmm

OK found how to start in safe-mode from all programs it worked then after when clicked the FireFox icon after it worked fine! hope it keeps up all very strange.. thanks for the help

Re: firefox broke

If it started OK in Firefox's Safe Mode then that suggests an extension or theme (perhaps conflicting extensions) might have been causing the problem. Have you installed any recently? (Java isn't an extension.)
