What do you think of the AOL browser ?

We are on AOL Silver and I use IE7 but am thinking of trying Firefox.
My wife prefers to use the browser that comes with AOL.

What do you think of the AOL browser, and how does it rate for security against IE7 or Firefox ?

Re: What do you think of the AOL browser ?

In a word, Laughable.

I've never ever liked AOLs ability to weld itself to the hard drive at all. I remember my girlfriend using the AOL browser for a while too. Thing's horrendous, and the computer riddled with all sorts of nasties to boot (guess who fixed those XD)

I stay away from IE completely, even if they have made some improvements with version 7. Some people prefer it though, so I can't really force them into trying something new.

Give Firefox a try, I think you will end up sticking with it if you give it a shot. Failing that, give Opera a go too. It's my current browser and I couldn't be more pleased.

I aree 100% the AOL Members browswes layout Needs a Complete overhaul
And I like AOL for itd reliablity service

But when I use the service the Favourites section is very good 9/10 and the email I shall give 7/10

The rest...Um you'd be Lucky if I give it 3/10 The navigation is vague there are useless features ...AOL Companion is the first that come to mind

The AOL Open Ride page for the US non subscribers is a better layout
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AOL_OpenRide ....cannot open the AOl browser with it even though the Controls are in situ (has some issues)
and Netscapes (aol) page has been revamped ... http://netscape.aol.com/

Worth having a look/try out
