A minor but irritating glitch. I use Firefox nearly all the time now and usually I have around 5 tabs on the go. If I move my cursor across to open another tab, it opens at the bottom of the webpage rather than at the top. It is annoying to have to press PageUp each time a page opens. Have I done something silly?... ![]() . |

Go to Tools > Options > Tabbed browsing > Display options > Un-check - Place the tab bar at the bottom of the window > OK |

Thanks Fusion. I don't seem to be able to find the route you recommend - under Tools. This is what I get. And if I open 'Tabs' I can't find it either. Sorry to be problematical ! . |

Two questions - which version of Firefox are you running (it should be 2.0.0.6.) and have you installed any extensions that are designed to change the way tabs display. |

Hi Greysts. When I checked 'All Programmes' I found I had both 2.0.0.5 AND 2.0.0.6 on board. I decided to uninstall the former and frightened myself to death because both vanished. I thought ' Oh dear. There go all my bookmarks et al" However I downloaded 2.0.0.6 from 'tucows' and everything reappeared, including the tabs I was working on. Plus by the way, whatever I did has fixed the problem (can't claim any credit though) and pages now open at the top, as they should. Thanks as ever, and to Fusion. ![]() . |

Yes, that 2.0.0.5/2.0.0.6 is somewhat annoying. It seems that the upgrade doesn't wipe the previous version information out of Control Panel properly. Like you I deleted 2.0.0.5 and found myself without Firefox. Luckily FF (unlike some other browsers) stores all your personal/extension/addons in a separate Profile folder so wiping the main FF file isn't the disaster it might otherwise be. Glad you're sorted. |

Graham Please accept my apologies for my vague answer regarding the Tabbed Browsing add-on. When I upgrade my browser over time, the add-ons which I've kept and made compatible seem to be part of the new installation although in fact they aren't. It's easy to forget that. This is the link to that add-on . . . . Tabbrowser Preferences This extension is an enhancement for the basic tab controls provided in Firefox. It replaces the existing user interface with a new, more visible user interface, and also includes UI for other hidden features that are part of the browser, as well as features provided explicitly by the extension. |

Thanks Steve. Nice 'add-on' and I've added it and set things to suit. For instance, I personally prefer a link to open directly as a new window rather than as a tab and then use my green back-button. Each to his own, as they say ! Ta for the link. I like your Paradox Images very much, a good browse for me there methinks! cheers G . |
