Can't instal Flash in Firefox

I've just bought a new PC running Vista Home Premium (used to have XP). I installed Firefox straight away but I simply cannot get Flash installed. This applies to when I'm invited to instal the Plugin ("Plugin failed") or trying a manual instal (NB after manual instal, Flash is shown as active when plugins are viewed on the "about:plugins" page. However, it's as if it's not there when viewing a webpage which requires Flash). Does anyone know of a cure? Or the reason e.g. flaw in Vista??
IntExp is fine with Flash incidentally. Thanks in advance.

Have you installed the coreect flash player ? There are different versions for IE and for Firefox.

Just to add, try this alternative download for Firefox . . . >> Adobe Flash Player
