Firefox: Problem loading page...?!

Hi,

I sure hope that someone can help me for I'm having a major problem with Firefox which is getting really annoying. Basically it often comes up with the "Problem loading page" in the <title> section and "Server not found" in the body of the message. I often have to hit refresh up to half a dozen times before I'm able to view the site. This is most vexing for I know the sites are there for I visit a lot of these regularly. I use Win XP Pro, if this helps.

I wish you well.

Re: Firefox: Problem loading page...?!

Have you made any tweaks to Firefox, either by using an extension or other method? If so, try disabling the extension or returning settings to Firefox defaults. Have a read of 'Error loading some websites' and 'Websites randomly don't load' in this page.

Re: Firefox: Problem loading page...?!

Hi Mart,

Thanks for the link. Unfortunately the info on there didn't help much really. I cleared the cache but still couldn't load sites properly. I didn't want to mess around with my OS settings for that's waaay to advanced for me.

Thanks for your help!

Re: Firefox: Problem loading page...?!

They're not OS settings but Firefox ones. A couple of other things you could try:

* Use a different browser for a while to make sure the problem is to do with Firefox.
* You haven't said if a tweaking extension is installed (Fasterfox?), or if anything has been done that may have altered Firefox's defaults. From reading your last post, it seems that you wouldn't have altered anything? Just in case, I'll say to run Firefox in Firefox's Safe Mode (shortcut in the Windows 'Start' menu). This disables extensions.
