Hi everyone. I have ordered broadband from BT, delivery next week it is only the basic £19.99 a month. I know that all the connections are in the package but what I need to know is which connection on the computer do I use, does the wire go to the old modem connection or do I need a multi connector on the USB or do I use any of the other connections. Please help me so I can everything ready when its delivered. Thank you, Tex. |

When BT have done the conversion work on your telephone line you will need to plug a filter into it. That filter will have one socket for your BB modem and the other can be used for a normal telephone. The modem will also have a socket for a USB cable which is connected to one of the USB ports on your PC. It is very important that the modem is plugged in directly to your PC and not via a USB hub. As far as I know you will get two filters, a modem, a t/p cable and a USB cable included in the package you get from BT. You will also get a CD with all the drivers etc. Do not connect anything until you have run this CD. It will install all the drivers first and then give you instructions on what to do next. ![]() Do you know that we're all in line for succession to the throne? Really? Thanks for your prompt and understandable reply. Ive only 2 USB connections on my computer 1 for my scanner and 1 for my camera I'll connect those 2 into a hub and plug the b/band line into the spare USB, I hope that will solve it. Thanks once again. Tex |

As you only have 2 USB ports you might want to consider getting one of these. That will get you an additional 4 USB ports with the added advantage that they are USB2.0 and being internal are for more reliable than a hub. USB2.0 is backwardly compatible with USB1.0 so your camera and scanner will still work when plugged into the new ports. ![]() Do you know that we're all in line for succession to the throne? Really?
