Re: I have BroadBand but I cant see videos.

You're PC is quite low spec. (I never thought I would say that to someone else !!)
How much RAM do you have?
My PII 233 PC runs videos OK.......just, with 224Mb of RAM
If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

I know, I have the worst PC in the world. I have only 80 Mb of ram, maybe I need a PC better than this to see the videos properly.

the 80Mb of ram is ok, I think the problem is your 133 processor. my last comp had only 64Mb ram. but it had a 500Mhz processor, and I could watch video's with no problems.

Re: I have BroadBand but I cant see videos.

I think he's right because when i got my computer it had 64MB of ram with 500Mhz of ram and everything seemed to run fine on it. I have now 188MB of ram and I don't see any differance but I do only have windows 98SE.

Someone said XP doesn't cope very well with alot of ram or it could be the other way round lol.

Re: I have BroadBand but I cant see videos.

Try freeing up some resources on the PC.
Goto start Run and type in MSCONFIG
Press ok
Goto the STARTUP tab and click
untick everything Except SYSTRAY , LOADPOWERPROFILE and then press APPLY and OK
Restart when asked and try it now.
If you have a firewall and anti virus you can retick these in the MSCONFIG later to restart them.

Do NOT, under any circumstances, disable your Firewall or Anti Virus software whilst your BroadBand connection is live.

Re: I have BroadBand but I cant see videos.

If the firewall and anti virus is turned off while he tries to stream pics to test this is not the end of the world.
This is only a short test to see if he can stream properly while resources are not used in the background.
Making people totally paranoid about firewalls and anti virus is not ideal approach to helping them.
These items can be restarted again.

Just to back up Greysts point, within 30 seconds of connecting I had some guy from California trying to access my computer a couple of weeks ago. It only takes seconds for an intrusion attempt to be made.

Re: I have BroadBand but I cant see videos.

We are talking about your Windows 95 166mhz 80 Mb laptop trying to access broadband content?

We are talking the absolute minimum here, the official minimum specs for NTL broadband are:

Operating System - Windows 98, 2000 Professional Edition, ME, XP Home Edition, XP Professional
Processor Speed - Pentium 166MHz (or equivalent)
Memory (RAM) - 64MB
Hard Drive Space - 60MB
PC Hardware - CD-ROM Drive, Sound & Graphics Card, USB port (recommended) - if not present Network Interface Card (Ethernet Card)
