Hi, I hope someone can help. I have a problem that is more annoying rather than affecting the performance of my broadband. I am using a Wanadoo live box with an ethernet connection to my desktop and wireless to my laptop. When I used to log on to the desktop, I got a 'double-computer' icon in the taskbar telling me I was now connected to the internet and giving me the connection speed (1.1Mb) and other connection details. Since I have run a system tune up using 'Advanced System Optimiser', the icon has disappeared. I can get an icon back if I go to the local area connection page and click on the 'show icon in taskbar' option, but this only gives me a local area connection icon and tells me I am connected at 100Mbps, not the original 'internet' icon. The broadband works fine, it's just the icon is missing. I suspect the optimiser has deleted or changed a registry entry, but the optimser does not seem to have saved a restore option, so I cannot undo the optimisation. Does anyone know how to get the icon back? I'm running xp, sp2. Thanks |
