Wanadoo Livebox

Hi, I was just wondering if someone can help me...I have moved from wanadoo isp to virgin and I would still like to use my wanadoo livebox. I cant make it work though, I have tried rebooting it to its factory configuration but it still says that my adsl link is down. My broadband is actually working but with the adsl modem not with the router. What can I do? does anyone know what to do? I don't really know much about this so please could you make it simple??? Thanks

Re: Wanadoo Livebox

The Livebox clearly states that it's ONLY for use with Wanadoo, it doesn't allow you to change some of the settings you need for a different ISP (as is common with many ISP supplied modems). I understand that some people have managed to do this?, possibly by modifying the software inside the Livebox? (it's basically running Linux).

Re: Wanadoo Livebox

Thanks Nigel, I wasn't sure whether it was possible or not...thanks for your help. I suggest to other people not to use wanadoo at all, after all they are using Linux and not giving us the ability to change any settings, that is not free software.
