Have had some connection problems previously and am experiencing some again, looking for help! Have good spec pc running xp home and bt voyager 105 modem and microfilters on all lines, problem is connection keeps dropping out and modem goes into "training mode" most of the time it reverts to healthy but more frequently it is staying in training mode. Modem is connected directly to pc not usb hub and the only way to repair is to switch off and unplug/plug modem. Does anyone know if it is the modem or my pc/usb that is at fault?? BT have recently upgraded speed to 1.1Mb, don't know if they are working on line or exchange at all. Sorry if this is a bit of a long request, any help or info greatly appreciated. Cheers Keith |

Could be one of the filters is spotty(happens) Swap a known good filter costs about 5 to 6 pounds Have you done a line check by listening in? ( See My tip in the current copy of WU) or here and check the cable runs for damage? Then if all is looking right and no improvement then Ring BT for a line check

I've changed the microfilter and phone cable to modem, my line sounds ok, theres no noise on line. It has been running ok for over a year and has only started playing up over the last month or so. Am looking to upgrade to a wireless router connected direct to main pc, think this will make any difference?? cheers Keith |
