Wanadoo username and D-Link Router

Hi All
Ive just signed up to wanadoo france and was given a username of fti/****2**
but when i put this information into my d-link G604T router it wont lett me connect to the internet.
i beleive this is because the username is to short, as my old username on pipex in england was ****80@xtreme3.pipex.net. Any help will be usefull
