My sister has Windows ME and Comcast Internet. She had a problem with viruses and spyware and now the computer itself is doing fine. The problem now is that after installing the modem, Comcast says the computer is "online" but it isn't recognizing domains. There are 3 solid green lights and 1 flashing orange light on the modem, but websites will not show. When you ping the IP address for Comcast, it finds it, but it doesn't find any of the websites when you ping www.yahoo.com or anything. Comcast said that her winsock catalog needs to be reset, but I got a program that fixes that (winsockfix.exe), and it still isn't getting online.
