Re: Router or usb or pci?

I'm on Freedom2Surf too (congratulations, they are excellent!) and I have a PCI modem make and model unknown - it was the cheapest one on eBay, about £25 quid.

I also have a Linksys WAG54G wireless router, but I have had nothing but trouble trying to use it, so I tend to rely on the modem!

Re: Router or usb or pci?

I am on Freedom2Surf as well. I have a Netgear DG814 router. Don't know how much it cost though. I have to have a router as I have 3.........soon to be 4 pcs on the network.
I love puta as much as I love this forum

Re: Router or usb or pci?

I prefer the router approach, but I'm also slightly biased as I have 4 PCs to connect. While I had broadband in my old house (sadly not in my new house yet...) I used Netgear DG834G, which was brilliant.

Even if you only have one PC, using a router approach provides you the flexibility to for example let a mate connect his laptop while he is visiting you without any problems. A USB or PCI approach can't match this.
