Which version of word are you using? Close Word try renaming the normal.dot file (All word versions prior to Word 2007) or normal.dotm (Word 2007) Then reopen Word and try printing |

Quit Word. Click Start | Search. Click All files and folders. In the All or part of the file name box, type Normal.dot Change the setting in the Look in box to Local Disk C: and then click Search For each occurrence of the Normal.dot template that you find, rename it Normal.old. To do this, Click Normal.dot Click File | Rename. Type Normal.old and then press ENTER. restart Word and try to print |

I did all that but it found no files. So where do we go from here? For the life of me I cannot see the logic with this printer. 1, The printer prints photos 2. It prints text from a webpage 3. It will not copy (blank page comes out) 4. It will not scan. 5. It will not print a word document (blank page comes out) I've reloaded the software with no success. |

Further information on this post. After following all the advice, the printer still did not function properly so I decided to go out and buy another similar printer. ie an all-in-one that used the same size cartridges. I had 4 brand new ones so that determined the type of printer. I set up the new printer but instead of using the new cartridges supplied I inserted the ones from the old printer. They were nearly new and had about half of the ink remaining. When I tried to print the same errors occurred and you can imaging my despair. I decided to break open the new catridges and load them into the machine and lo and behold the printer worked and so did the old one when new cartridges were inserted. So now I have 2 printers one as a spare. The fault, so it appears to me, was with the cartridges |
