Re: Question regarding new hard drive

You could do any of your suggestions. A cheaper option would be to istall it inside the same PC as a 'slave', but putting it into an enclosure gives you the portability to use it elsewhere.

What operating system do you currently have?

Re: Question regarding new hard drive

You can save yourself the cost of a new copy of XP and use the licence on the sticker on the side of your case. You just need to borrow a copy of the CD from someone.

Re: Question regarding new hard drive

If you buy another hard drive to install internally, you choose how to format it. If you get one and need help with the installation, just post on here and someone will advise you.

Re: Question regarding new hard drive

I'd be very suprised if there's not a spare power connector. There should also be a spare 40-pin IDE connector on the same cable your current HD is connected to, unless it shares with the CD.
