xd card not opening with autoplay

my daughters xd card does not work on her laptop anymmore.. i have looked at autoplay options and everything looks ok there the xd card works fine on another laptop. when i open up "my computer" there are only 2 hard disk drives ( c and d and only e the dvd drive listed under devices with removable storage) it is an acer aspire 5630 laptop working with vista any ideas?
