New Graphics card for ms6390 motherboard

Hi

Was wondering if any one can help.

I am after a better graphics card for my pc, but have no idea what is compatible

I have a Microstar MS6390 motherboard with a AGP & 2x PCI slots free

Thanks in advance

Are they standard PCi slots or PCi Express?

On the board it just says PCI 2 & 3, no mention of an E PCI 1 is in use.

and looking here it just says PCI

So am guessing it is just PCI

In that case you will have only a very limited choice of graphics cards. There's one here and I'm sure there will be others but you'll have to do some searching.

Thanks Greysts

That looks good to me, at the moment the socket for the monitor seems to go straight into the motherboard.

No idea what sort or how much I have.

256mb looks good to me. Will be getting myself one in the near future

Once again many thanks for your help

In that case you've got an onboard graphics chip which won't be particularly powerful and probably 'borrows' RAM from the main chip. Anything you get in the way of a new graphics card will be better than that.
